Review before launch
This is a generic starting template, not legal advice. Have it reviewed by a lawyer familiar with your jurisdiction before it goes live.
1. Overview
This policy explains what information Binder(“we,” “us,” “our”) collects when you use our website and application (the “Service”), how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information as described here.
2. Information We Collect
Account information. When you sign up, we collect your name, email address, and password (stored only as a salted hash, never in plain text).
Content you create. The records, files, and anything else you add or upload while using the Service.
Usage data.Basic analytics about how the Service is used — pages visited, features used, and similar events — collected to help us understand what’s working and what isn’t.
Payment information. If you subscribe to a paid plan, billing details are collected and processed directly by our payment processor. We do not store your full card number on our own servers.
3. How We Use Information
- To provide, maintain, and improve the Service.
- To communicate with you about your account, updates, or support requests.
- To process payments and manage subscriptions.
- To detect, prevent, and address technical issues, abuse, or fraud.
4. Third-Party Service Providers
We rely on a small number of service providers to run Binder, each processing only what they need to do their job:
- Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage.
- Stripe — payment processing and subscription billing.
- Resend — transactional email (account verification, password resets, notifications).
- PostHog — product analytics.
Each provider is bound by its own privacy and security commitments; we don’t sell your information to anyone.
5. Cookies & Similar Technologies
We use a small number of cookies required to keep you signed in and to remember your theme preference. Analytics cookies, where used, help us understand aggregate usage patterns — never to build an advertising profile.
6. Data Retention & Deletion
We keep your account information and content for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your personal information and content within a reasonable period, except where we’re required to keep certain records (for example, billing records) for legal or accounting purposes.
7. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, or to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, reach out through the contact method below.
8. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
9. International Data Transfers
Your information may be processed and stored in countries other than your own. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards to protect information transferred internationally.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we’ll let you know by email or through the Service before the change takes effect.
